A private workspace for notes and files, encrypted locally with your passphrase.

Where it is stored

Only in this browser on this device: notes in localStorage, files in IndexedDB. Nothing is uploaded to ARCANE or any server.

How it is protected

Content is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key is derived from your passphrase with PBKDF2-SHA256 (310,000 iterations) and is held in memory only while the vault is unlocked.

What it does not do

No recovery, sync or backup. A forgotten passphrase or cleared site data means permanent loss. The number of notes and files is visible; their contents and names are not. Not audited.
